Flights are booked

We have booked our flights!!

At the grand total of just over £1000 each!!
Seemed quite a lot but realistically we wouldn't get them much cheaper.
We booked through STAtravel and have been able to add on a multiplex pass that enables us to change our flight back up to 3 times for only £59. We bought these as we're not sure on when we want to return so can change our return flight to a more suitable time.

We're flying with emirates which I'm glad about as I've heard a lot of good things about them. I'm also excited for the plane we'll be flying in, an airbus a380, the biggest jumbo you can travel in!

We call at Dubai international and the whole flight time is 15 minutes short of 24 hours!

Looking at Flights

Hello again.


So a bit more about our trip and where we are at so far..


Currently we are planning a date for next week to go to a specialist travel agent called STAtravel. We will be going to them to see what kind of deals we can get on our flights.


A new book by lonely planet called Sydney Encounter arrived yesterday and has got us more excited. It's a brilliant book stuffed full of info, i'll post it at the bottom.


Sydney is the main destination we are aiming for and I've already had a brief look over some websites about what jobs are available there. 


But as I said in my previous post, we are in the earliest stages of planning at the minute.


Hopefully in the next few weeks there will be some real progress after we book our flights.

The Sydney Book

Early planning

Well..

Hey my name is Martin and this is my first blog. In November me and my beautiful partner Hannah are going to go backpacking in Australia.
I've tried to find a blog about backpacking Australia but what's out there isn't that good and only has very limited info. I wanted to hear about peoples planning but this was hard to come by. Sooo I thought I'd start my own for people like me who want to find out how people have planned there trip as well as the trip itself.

Anyway the plan is to go to Australia in November calling at maybe Dubai and maybe a few weeks in New Zealand. The main destination we want to aim for is Australia. We plan on staying there for maybe 6 months and working to help pay our way. On the return we'd like to call at LA and leave from New York back to London.
